The territory and the activities

Mondovi, placed on the last hill of the Langhe at 559 meters of altitude is the Monregalese capital. The history, full of events, finds its roots back in the Middle Ages and leads to a rich and diverse artistic heritage.

The strategic position, the intolerance to power, the importance that soon the city gains (diocese, college town, production and trade center, the most populous center of Piemonte) have not spared Mondovì any vicissitude of history and helped give a charm that is still there and that you can easily feel strolling around the old part of town.

If this premise has felt intriguing, you’re welcome to Mondovì: the medieval square, the civic tower, the churches, the city palace, the Vicoforte Sanctuary (with the largest elliptical dome in the world), the funicular railway that links Breo, the charming pedestrian historic district where shopping is an experience in itself, with the medieval Town of Piazza, full of monuments: Mission Jesuit church with frescoes by Pozzo, the Brotherhood of Mercy and the Jesuit Palace designed by Francesco Gallo, museums: the printing museum (with the italian widest public collection of equipment and machines), ceramics (long Monregalese tradition between an industrial past and a handicraft present), the Belvedere with time park and the tower symbol of the city;

So welcome to the heart of Piemonte food and wine:

Dolcetto of Langhe Monregalese, Dogliani, “Rubatà”, “Bale d’asu” are only some of the renowned wines of the area. Buckwheat, “Tajarin”, Truffles, the Granda meat, Raschera, “Bruss” Castagna, Marron Glacè “Cupeta”, risole, rhum Monregalesi, the Meliga pasta, Rakikò are just some of the specialties not to be missed

Welcome also to all sports fans: The Monregalese is framed by well known mountains such as the Mondolè, the Marguareis, the saline summit… A naturally rich heritage, enhanced by modern facilities that make winter a paradise for snow lovers and summer, thanks to a network of shelters, an excellent opportunity to explore the land (walking, climbing, descending, flying).

But sport is also to be found in town: Mondovi has long been home to one of the most important domestic balloon flight gathering, being home for a renowned flight school and an airfield.

It’s the ideal place for nature lovers and for those fond of health and well-being: a few kilometers from Mondovi, on the top of the Ligurian Alps with at least a quarter of the Italian flora species, a nature reserve hosts an archaeological site and a haven for migratory birds. The show then goes on in the underground: the area is rich in caves, underground rivers and chasms. Water is another important resource; the exceptional springs, the historic and modern spas (10 minutes away from the B&B), make the Monregalese area a wellness and health destination.
